- Phase 1 of I-25 / Trinidad Improvements , SH 12 Extension included a three span bridge over the Purgatoire River
- Special aesthetic features included pedestrian overlooks at the bridge abutments; a special bridge rail to tie into the City’s Victorian architecture; and a stone fascia at the abutments and bridge rail pilasters
- Basic structure under all of the architectural features was a three span prestressed concrete U-Girder superstructure with piers founded on caissons, and the abutments founded on piles
